FAQ
Book sharing made easy
Here you will find short, clear answers about trading, gifting and sharing books on Book-Sharing. If you still have questions, just write us an email.
Tip: Clear agreements make trading easier: who sends, when, and in what condition the book is.
Is this portal free?
Yes. Book-Sharing is completely free to use. You can manage your library, offer books and contact other members without paying a fee.
How does book trading work?
You list books you no longer need and choose whether you want to gift them for free or trade them. Other users can find your books via search and contact you using the "trade book" button.
How do I trade my books safely?
If you live nearby, meet in a public place for a quick exchange. If you are far away, you can send the book by mail. Tip: agree on shipping and packaging before you send anything.
Do I have to enter personal data?
No. You can use the site anonymously for managing your collection. Only share the information that is necessary for a trade (for example a shipping address if you mail books).
What about privacy and data selling?
We do not sell your personal data. Your data is only used to run the platform and to enable trades you actively start.
Book-Sharing for authors and publishers
Book-Sharing offers the option to share books or e-books with readers. This can be useful for the first book of a series: satisfied readers often buy more titles by the same author.
E-book sharing
E-books may only be shared by the right holders. If you find unlawful uploads, please inform us so we can remove them promptly.
