English summary: What is an author? When Michel Foucault considered this question in a lecture in 1969, he placed the focus on the relationship between author and text and it has remained there in literary studies ever since. But how does one understand the importance of authorship in society? What is an author in the literary field in comparison to an author in religion or in social politics? This study investigates how Martin Mosebach, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, and Helmut Schmidt employed their authorship as a strategy of authorization and how their enactments were integrated into the image of either a secular or post-secular society. The comparison of the three authors leads to the conclusion that authorship belongs to the social preconditions, which the state, as a consequence of the famous Bockenforde dilemma, cannot guarantee. Als Michel Foucault diese Frage 1969 in einem Vortrag behandelte, legte er den Fokus auf das Verhaltnis von Autor und Text (so wie es die Literaturwissenschaft seit jeher tut). Wie aber lasst sich die Bedeutung von Autorschaft fur die Gesellschaft erklaren? Was ist ein Autor in der Literatur im Vergleich zu einem Autor in der Religion oder der Politik der Gesellschaft? Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, wie Martin Mosebach, Joseph Ratzinger/Benedikt XVI. und Helmut Schmidt ihre Autorschaft als Autorisierungsstrategie einsetzen und ihre Inszenierungen in das Bild einer entweder sakularen oder postsakularen Gesellschaft einfugen. Der Vergleich der drei Autoren fuhrt zu dem Ergebnis, dass Autorschaft zu den gesellschaftlichen Voraussetzungen gehort, die der Staat dem beruhmten Bockenforde-Diktum zufolge selbst nicht garantieren kann.
